You can put smiles on the faces of so many new pet families. We are determined to place 75 pets into new loving homes in just one day—on Saturday, September 7th—at our once-a-year adopt-a-thon event. But this can only happen if we raise $19,632 to meet the medical needs of all 75 animals, so they can be ready for adoption within two weeks. From kittens abandoned in Southern California to litters of puppies left on rural roads in the Central Valley, and dogs and cats rescued as part of Park Fire disaster relief to those at risk of euthanasia in Hawai’i—these shelter animals all have one thing in common: they need a second chance. With your support, there is hope.

The Park Fire grew to more than 383,000 acres—now one of the largest wildfires on record in the state. Chico Animal Shelter just reached out with an urgent plea for help. They desperately need their existing population to be transferred out, in order to house countless displaced fire victims. We rushed to Chico immediately to provide relief. Our shelter is already full, but our volunteers, fosters, and staff will rise to the occasion to welcome and care for the new transfers.
