100% of proceeds from this event support Berkeley Humane's lifesaving mission, so we would like to thank everyone who attended, we sold out!
Our community once again demonstrated its continued support of Berkeley Humane, as well as a genuine interest in discussing the potential dangers and benefits associated with administering cannabis to their animals suffering health issues, something California veterinarians remain prohibited from discussing with their clients.
Cannabis products are being increasingly marketed as a medicinal option for dogs and cats – ranging from oils and extracts to cookies and treats. Their popularity is growing every day,
but are they safe? How do we know if they are any good? Some people swear by their effectiveness, but is there science to support the claims? This informative lecture covered the
potential health benefits and/or risks of cannabis treatments for dogs and cats.
Dr. Gary Richter, MS, DVM, an award-winning veterinarian and expert in both conventional and holistic treatment methods, provided information and answered many questions throughout the evening. A variety of retail suppliers, companies, and vendors were also on hand for further discussion.
