End of Life Care

We are here for you

While euthanasia is never an easy decision, it takes a great deal of strength and love. When a dog or cat can no longer live with dignity and without pain, owners and/or guardians may opt for euthanasia. “Euthanasia,” meaning “good death," is a humane way of ending the life of an animal that is suffering or experiencing a significant reduction in their quality of life. The causes may be varied, including illness or unrepairable injury. Euthanasia is designed to be a painless and relaxed process for your pet.

End of life services at Berkeley Humane are performed in accordance with national American Veterinary Medical Association guidelines by our experienced and certified staff. The attending veterinarian will conduct an examination and will have discretion over if a euthanasia procedure will be performed.
