Develop or refresh your handling skills while your dog learns the basic skills of self-control: sit, down, stay, stand, wait, leave it, come and heel. This class addresses both management and training for being a good companion.

The AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY program for dogs under one year is available in Basic Obedience classes taught by CGC Evaluators. Participation is not required to attend the class. For more information on the S.T.A.R. Puppy Program, read the AKC brochure.

VOICE CONTROL

Off leash areas get closed to dog activities due people failing to have adequate voice control over their dogs.  Voice control means having absolutely reliable and prompt responses to vocal/sound cues or commands that stand up under all kinds of distractions and pressure. It’s not something you can take for granted and is something worked for and earned.

Starting with a sound and effective technique for getting your dog to understand what vocal/sound cues mean, this class proceeds to give you and the dog practice in keeping cues consistent and powerful.

Your dog will be off leash or on long lines at times in a fun and safe environment, so learning to not interact with other dogs during class is a skill they will acquire.

Dogs in this class must be friendly with other dogs and people. This isn't your typical obedience class. It is a fun and entertaining class that includes a combination of obedience and tricks. You and your dog will be able to amaze everyone with a set of new skills.
