Hi, I’m Hershey!

I’m a sweet and bubbly fellow who will delight you with loving companionship and my happy charm! I hope we can take lots of neighborhood walks so I can have active adventures and explore and sniff, but I’m also a great house dog who will be happy to hang out and snuggle while we catch up on the the latest shows!  P.S. I’m a fan of belly-rubs, too, so if this all sounds like a fit for you, make an appointment to meet me soon!

A Note From My Foster: Hershey loves to walk! He does not pull but he is a brisk walker. We’ve been averaging about a mile per walk twice a day. He’s also great on hikes. Hershey is a good listener. He sits, lays down, shakes, and stays on command. He seems like a smart boy who could easily learn more commands. He listens on walks too, and checks in when you call to him. When not enjoying his walks, he seems content to snooze in his bed. He likes a couch cuddle, but really only if you invite him up to sit with you. If you leave the couch he will get down too. He is really well mannered. He does not beg for food. He’s never even tried to swipe food from the 2 year old which is a minor miracle. He seems comfortable with the kids, but not super interested in them. He loves pets and belly rubs. He’s affectionate. He’s also pretty quiet. He’s barked a few times at some dogs walking by our yard, but only for a few moments. When he meets dogs on walks he seems excited and ready to play. We’ve done a few greetings with other dogs and had no problems. He’s very much house trained, and if you tell him to go potty and let him out, he immediately goes potty. Overall a stellar dog!

Update: Berkeley Humane is no longer accepting inquiries for Hershey, as their waitlist is full. Thank you!
