Hi, I’m Makaio!

I’m a big personality in a little package that will keep you entertained and smiling for years to come! Not to mention my little blep, how cute is that?! I am an active little guy and will need lots of daily enrichment, so my adopter should be someone that wants to take me on lots of fun outings and spoil me with toys! Sometimes I get over excited while playing, which can lead to me thinking your hand is the toy, so it’s best that I go to a home without very little kids (under 5). A basic obedience class (adopter’s get 30% off ) would be a fun way for our little or big family to learn how to help me continue being a happy and social pup!

The Berkeley Humane difference!

Our adoption package includes vaccines, microchip, spay or neuter, flea/tick preventative, worm treatment, and heartworm preventative for dogs (at the discretion of the veterinarian). We also provide $250 worth of medical care with VCA Animal Hospitals, discounts and/or free first welcome visits at other local veterinary hospitals and optional discounted pet insurance.

All adopters receive a 30% discount off their first training class from Train the Bay. Berkeley Humane’s dog training program Train the Bay has been improving the lives of pets and their people for over 30 years and is one of the most trusted dog training programs in the Bay Area.

Be 18 years of age or older
Have valid state-issued identification
Allowed to have a pet where you live. To protect you and your pet, get your landlord's or HOA's permission in writing before you adopt
Willing and able to provide training, medical attention, and proper care for your new pet.
