Hospital/Adoption Specialist

SUMMARY

The Hospital Adoption Specialist serves as a liaison between the Hospital and Adoption Departments, by assisting the Hospital with veterinary procedures in accordance with standard and acceptable practices in a shelter environment, prescription fulfillment and administration, and data entry/record management. Duties correlate directly with supporting the Adoption Department, providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that medical information, prescriptions, and waivers are accurate and facilitated as part of the adoption process, as well as supporting animal care needs and processing adoptions. Work schedule may include weekends.

Adoption Animal Care Specialist

SUMMARY

The Adoption Animal Care Specialist (AACS) performs cleaning, feeding, and basic care duties for dogs and cats in the adoption center and/or hospital and observes their health and behavior in order to ensure that animals housed at Berkeley Humane maintain good quality of life and health. Other duties include finding appropriate homes by answering questions regarding adopting an animal while providing outstanding customer service to all visitors to Berkeley Humane.

Relief Registered Veterinary Technician

SUMMARY

The Relief Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) supports the provision of medical care to animals treated at Berkeley Humane’s Hospital. This position provides nursing care and assists in medical treatments, handling, and procedures as directed by the staff Veterinarian.
