Fern

I’m named after those soft, curling green plants that grow quietly in shady forests, unfurling one delicate leaf at a time. It feels like a good name for a little cat who’s just beginning her story. I’m still figuring things out, like where I like to nap, which sunbeams are the warmest, and what kind of life I’ll grow into. Like a fern, I’ll take my time, stretching toward the light and settling into the spaces that feel right. For now, I’m just Fern: small, new, and full of possibility, waiting to put down roots and see what I become.

When you adopt me, please keep me indoors-only. Not only will I have a longer life, but I will be healthier and safe from the many dangers the great outdoors can pose to a curious kitty like me. I could be lost or stolen and experience things like overexposure to direct sunlight, natural predators like coyotes, and vehicles which can all be hazards to my health.
