Pet Abandonment on the Rise.
More and more, we are seeing pet crates or cardboard boxes left at our shelter’s doorstep. We often approach hoping for the best, but our heart sinks when we discover cold, hungry, and scared pets desperate for comfort and safety. These abandoned pets have no one else, and are depending on us. Thanks to your support, we’re able to provide emotional and physical healing for these helpless animals.

By the end of 2024, we will likely see a 300% increase of animals abandoned at our shelter, compared to just a few years before.
Whether it’s a box of underaged kittens, a senior dog, or an adult cat—abandoned animals often require immediate medical attention. Our primary goal is always to ensure the health and safety of animals in our care—regardless how they got here.
Now more than ever, pet families are facing the high costs of veterinary care, losing their pet-friendly housing, or having to relocate for work. While it is our mission to help keep pets and families stay together, we rely on our Hope Medical Fund to save animals that are anonymously left in our care.
Your donation to the Hope Medical Fund will provide the resources our veterinary hospital needs to respond to these animals. In honor of Giving Tuesday, every donation will be MATCHED to save twice as many lives!

We often come across animals who need immediate, life-saving medical care. We also witness—time and time again—animals with curable diseases or injuries get passed up for adoption. The up-front costs of medical treatment is often a barrier to adoption. Once that barrier is removed, adoption soon follows, freeing up space in the shelter to rescue another pet. Unfortunately, medical costs can often be expensive. Funded by the general public (like you), the Hope Medical Fund allows us to give sick or injured animals the second chance they deserve.
