Charlie’s Tennis Challenge – Supporting Animals
For my Bar Mitzvah, I wanted to do a service project to help my community, and I discovered Berkeley Humane. Berkeley Humane serves the people and animals of our community by providing life-saving programs for cats and dogs, cultivating compassion, and strengthening the human-animal bond.
My whole life I have loved animals and especially dogs. When I see dogs that are in need of food, shelter, or medical care, it makes me want to help. When I visited the amazing facility of Berkeley Humane, I learned that they work hard to give dogs and cats a second chance, but also do so much more. Jeffrey, the Director of Berkley Humane, said “What we do here is not only about the animals, it’s also about their humans too.”
Charlie’s Tennis Challenge: A Month of Meals for Berkeley Humane
I am combining my two favorite things: dogs and tennis to fund one month of meals for the animals in need at the Berkeley Humane.
The week of June 6 (exact date TBD), I will hit as many tennis balls as possible in a two hour period (probably around 1,000 total!). Would you please consider sponsoring me and helping the Berkeley Humane. For every 100 tennis balls I hit, you could donate a certain amount of money, kind of like a walkathon.
Fundraising Goal – $2000
$2000 supports all the animals at the Berkeley Humane society for one month. This allows Berkeley Humane to provide the correct type of food for each animal’s specific diet.
My goal is to raise $2000 which will cover all the shelter animal food in the month of June.
