Hoarding 18 Dogs in a Trailer
Imagine 18 dogs in a small trailer, and the terrible living conditions they’re in. Upon learning of this tragic situation, we had an emotional response – and knew we needed to help immediately. Six of these dogs just arrived at Berkeley Humane, and will receive individual attention, nutritious food, medical care, and all the love and treats they so desperately deserve. We don’t yet know the extent of their needs – but they will stay with us as long as it takes to become physically and emotionally healthy before we find them loving homes.
Our shelter is now at its highest animal population in more than a year and our resources are being pushed to the limit. In fact, another transport of dogs also just arrived from the Central Valley, where veterinary care is most limited and shelters don’t have open kennels.
