ONE GOAL:

More Kittens Survive this Kitten Season

Kitten season is here, and with it comes a surge of tiny, vulnerable kittens in need of urgent care. Every year, our shelter is flooded with hundreds of newborn kittens who have been abandoned or born in unsafe conditions. Many are sick, underweight, and fighting for survival. You can make a world of difference for these precious lives.

Kittens Need Your Help to Survive

Scared. Sick. Starving. Each spring, the Bay Area experiences an overwhelming number of abandoned newborn kittens in the fight for their lives. When these kittens arrive at our shelter, we are racing against time to provide life-saving warmth, hydration, nourishment, medical and around-the-clock care—all of which are immediately vital to reviving these fragile and rapidly declining lives.

Whether it’s newborns fading because they’ve been left alone cold and hungry for too long, young kittens with quickly progressing and life-threatening illnesses, or injured kittens suffering unimaginable pain, your donation today will provide the critical care they require.

Your gift today will go directly towards providing the critical care these kittens need to grow strong and find their forever homes. Whether it’s a one-time donation or a monthly contribution, every little bit helps. Together, we can give these precious little ones the start they deserve.

What Your Donation Can Do:

$25 : donation provides a week’s worth of kitten formula for a litter of newborns.

$50 : donation covers the cost of initial veterinary care for multiple kittens.

$100 : donation helps provide emergency care for an injured kitten, giving them a chance to survive.

$250 : donation provides a full set of vaccinations, microchipping, and adoption preparation for a kitten, ensuring they are healthy and ready for their new loving family.

Kitten Formula & Food

Orphaned newborn kittens need to be bottle-fed every two hours for many weeks, and will need 250 bottles of formula until weaned. Once they are four weeks old, they will also need high-calorie kitten food to support their kitten energy and quickly growing bodies.

Medical Care

Orphaned kittens are extremely fragile and often arrive into our care cold, dehydrated, and even ill. To give them a fighting chance, our veterinary team examines them, vaccinates them, prescribes any necessary treatments, and continues to monitor their delicate health over the course of eight weeks.

Surgery

Each and every kitten will require surgery while in our care. For fortunate kittens, all they need is a spay or neuter at two months old before they're off to a new and exciting adventure with their new families. Some other kittens with injuries or conditions may need a little extra surgical help.

what to do

When You Find Kittens?

#1:assess

Is there immediate, life-threatening danger? If not, leave the kittens. Cat moms are their best chance for survival.

#2:wait

Are the kittens truly, permanently abandoned? Wait four hours from afar for cat mom to return.

#3:act

When kittens are in danger or abandoned. Keep kittens warm and rush them to a shelter nearby.
