Emergencies can strike without warning—earthquakes, wildfires, power outages, or hazardous air events—and they don’t just affect people. Our beloved pets also face risks during disasters, and families often struggle to keep them safe in the midst of crisis. That’s why Berkeley Ready, Berkeley Humane, and Berkeley Animal Care Services are joining together to co-host a free online webinar to help residents build a disaster preparedness plan that includes every member of the household—four-legged ones included.
WHAT: Free Webinar: Disaster Preparedness for Pet Families
WHEN: Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – 6:30 PM

Disasters may require anything from a brief evacuation to leaving your home permanently. Each situation demands foresight and preparation. From assembling “go kits” with pet food, medications, and identification, to understanding evacuation routes and shelter options that accept animals, preparedness is essential.
This program is free and open to all Bay Area residents, but space is limited. Participants must register in advance to secure their spot.
