At Berkeley Humane, every story we tell and every image we share can help save a life. As a Marketing Intern, you’ll use your creativity and communication skills to promote our mission of compassion, love, and second chances for animals in need.
This internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, social media, graphic design, and events, all while supporting a cause rooted in kindness and community. What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to support organizational goals and campaigns
- Assist with social media strategy and content creation that inspires compassion and engagement
- Track promotions, collect analytics, and prepare reports
- Support special events with planning, promotion, and day-of activities
- Edit, proofread, and contribute to newsletters, emails, and publications
- Depending on your skills, assist with graphic design, photography, videography, or other creative projects
What You Bring
- Background in marketing, communications, or graphic/digital design (coursework or equivalent experience required)
- Proficiency in creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn new software and platforms quickly
- Passion for animal welfare and comfort working with a diverse population of people and pets
- Commitment of at least 10 hours/week, Monday–Friday, for 3+ months

Requirements
- Don’t get overwhelmed by cute puppies or adoptable kitties too easily.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and push moderately heavy objects
- No allergic conditions aggravated by animals in our care
- Reliable commitment to the internship schedule
