Dr. Crystal Heath demonstrates just how easy it can be to give your cat a pill, and why getting them used to being handled around the mouth and ears is a good thing!
A quick overview of how to give your cat a pill:
- Sit comfortably on the ground and place your cat in front of you
- Start with a yummy treat that your cat likes so they relax and associate this with a good experience
- Gently lift your cat’s jaw and stick the pill inside his/her mouth, then blow on his/her nose
- Finish with another yummy snack and some chin and ear scratches!
