Volunteers are the foundation of the Thrift Shop’s success! If you like to have fun with cool people, support a great cause, can enthusiastically greet strangers without jumping on or sniffing them inappropriately, can help fetch items, then we want to hear from you! To learn more, please visit our volunteer page.
Volunteer roles include sorting donations, merchandising, cashiering and greeting customers.

We are grateful for donations of new and like-new/gently used handbags, home décor, framed art, jewelry, and men’s and women’s clothing. Shoes are accepted if they are in excellent condition.
We welcome donation of hardcover books such as best sellers (fiction or biographies), cookbooks with color photos, and travel related coffee table books. We also appreciate donations of DVD and CDs.
Donations gladly accepted Tuesdays through Sundays 11AM–5PM. Please carry all donations inside the Thrift Shop at either location (1120 Solano Ave., Albany and 2644 Ashby Ave., Berkeley).
Effective August 2025, donations of unopened, unexpired food for our shelter dogs and cats will also be accepted at both Thrift Shop locations.
