It’s back and spookier than ever! Berkeley Humane is hosting its second annual aPAWcalypse, a Halloween-themed fee-waived adoption event that’s all about matching shelter pets with their perfect families. This year, the tricks are “sit, stay, and roll over,” and the treats are made of bacon (for the pups, of course!).

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Berkeley Humane’s adoption center located at 2700 Ninth Street. You’ll be treated to a Halloween bash filled with costumes, adoptable pets, and the opportunity to bring home a new furry friend without paying any adoption fees!

Jeffrey Zerwekh, Executive Director at Berkeley Humane, says it best:

“There is nothing spooky or frightening about bringing home a new loving pet, especially when they are dressed in cute costumes. However, too many animals at the shelter is scary, so all adoption fees will be ghosted away this year at aPAWcalypse!”

Over 50 Pets Waiting to Join Your Family

At this year’s aPAWcalypse, more than 50 kittens, puppies, dogs, and cats will be ready to find loving new homes. Each animal has undergone a complete medical and behavior evaluation and received vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter surgery. Cats will be tested for FeLV/FIV, and dogs will receive heartworm prevention as part of their care.

Adopters will also benefit from an amazing adoption package that includes:

• A temporary leash or carrier
• $250 worth of medical care with VCA Animal Hospitals
• A certificate for a free exam at a local vet hospital
• Free 30-day pet insurance
• A 30% discount on dog training classes through Berkeley Humane’s Train the Bay program

As an extra Halloween treat, every adopter will receive a free Trick or Treat Lucy Pet food gift basket filled with over $150 worth of pet food and goodies!

Cast Your Spell and Adopt at aPAWcalypse!

Berkeley Humane is casting a spell to ensure that every shelter pet finds their loving home this October. Let’s work some practical magic together and make sure no pet is left behind. Our volunteer “witches” and “warlocks” will be on hand to provide adoption counseling and help you find your new best friend.
