Internship opportunities are available year-round. We pride ourselves on the training and hands-on experience we provide, and encourage those without experience to apply!
All experience levels welcome! We work with students to accommodate school schedules and responsibilities.

- Must love animals
- Eager to learn
- Comfortable working with a diverse population of animals and people
- Must commit 10 to 20+ hours per week for 3+ months. Exact hours depend on the role

Animal Adoption Internship
The Animal Adoption Internship program is designed to offer our interns the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, basic skills, and hands-on experience adopting out cats and dogs in a fast-paced shelter environment. This is particularly useful for students looking to pursue a career in the animal rescue or shelter field
Event Coordinator Internships
Berkeley Humane volunteer Event Coordination Internships offer the opportunity to partner with the Marketing Manager. Interns will gain valuable experience in event coordination, fundraising, and marketing. All internships are unpaid, but course credit can be arranged. Upon successful completion of an internship, interns may also request a letter of recommendation from their supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES
Foster Program Internships
Berkeley Humane Foster Program Internships offer the opportunity to partner with the Foster Program Coordinator to coordinate, innovate, and advance a robust Foster/Foster-to-Family program. Interns will gain valuable experience in managing all aspects of a home-based sheltering and adoption program. All internships are unpaid, but course credit can be arranged.
