Your donation will be DOUBLED for twice the impact this #GivingTuesday!

The Aloha Dog Project—made possible by Berkeley Humane’s Hope Medical Fund—transports dogs from Kona, Hawai’i to the San Francisco Bay Area with the help of travelers. Overwhelmed by the volume of strays and surrenders, the Island’s small, overcrowded shelter faces hard decisions, and survival for these Kona dogs can depend on a ticket to the mainland. Will you save the Aloha Dogs? Your donation will be MATCHED this #GivingTuesday!!

The aPAWcalypse is coming on Saturday, October 28! This one-day adoption event features “ghosted” adoption fees (a.k.a. waived), plus wicked cute shelter animals will be dressed for the occasion (in costumes)! Don’t miss the perfect chance to add an MVP to your aPAWcalypse survival team!

Your dog loves you unconditionally, so why not take a moment to Make Your Dog’s Day? Join us Sunday, October 22, 2023 for a full day of live, virtual, and free webinars to celebrate and enrich your relationship with your dog!

You can put smiles on the faces of so many new pet families. We are determined to place 75 pets into new loving homes in just one day—on Saturday, September 7th—at our once-a-year adopt-a-thon event. But this can only happen if we raise $19,632 to meet the medical needs of all 75 animals, so they can be ready for adoption within two weeks. From kittens abandoned in Southern California to litters of puppies left on rural roads in the Central Valley, and dogs and cats rescued as part of Park Fire disaster relief to those at risk of euthanasia in Hawai’i—these shelter animals all have one thing in common: they need a second chance. With your support, there is hope.

Happy-Stories-2023-345-alt

This year expenses have skyrocketed just to provide basic services. All our community programs experienced their highest demand—ever. Our behavior and training classes, low-cost vaccine and spay/neuter programs, rehoming services, and free pet food distribution all served as a lifeline for local families. At the same time, shelters across the greater Bay Area and California continue to be overcrowded with animals in need. Your tax-deductible gift is desperately needed today. With your generous support, we plan to save even more lives in 2024.

The Park Fire grew to more than 383,000 acres—now one of the largest wildfires on record in the state. Chico Animal Shelter just reached out with an urgent plea for help. They desperately need their existing population to be transferred out, in order to house countless displaced fire victims. We rushed to Chico immediately to provide relief. Our shelter is already full, but our volunteers, fosters, and staff will rise to the occasion to welcome and care for the new transfers. Please make a donation and save lives with us during this challenging time for our community.
